A line from the song Hurricane comes to mind here:

“Makes you kind of ashamed to live in a land
where justice is a game.”

The most recent issue of Reason magazine has numerous articles on aspects of police issues. I have been wanting to write an article that encompasses all these things… starting with “My country right or wrong” Is Wrong.

Then I would go to, “My Union Right or Wrong” Is Wrong

Then, “My Protest Right or Wrong” is Wrong.

The point being, we have to “call out” the bad apples in OUR OWN group or we lose credibility with everyone else…. Police unions, teachers unions… when you can’t get rid of the bad apple, then you have a problem.

The Old Testament prophets had to “call out” the kings of Israel… and put their lives on the line to do it. We have to admit our mistakes and faults, and address them, not pretend it doesn’t matter or isn’t there.
