As the story began it reminded me of The Illusionist, or the segment of that film in which Edward Norton meets an old man seated under a tree who is a mster magician. That one goes a different direction though...

The story also remind me of the story at the beginning of Acres of Diamonds. A man sells his farm to off in search of diamonds... As it turns out in the end, his farm was located atop what would become the richest diamond mine in the world. It is a true story purportedly... We go to the end of the world seeking riches. (truth, love, illumination) and it's right there where we are...

Good thoughts for a new day.
