Before blogging every day since 2007 I used to journal every day for more than 3 decades. In the 80s and 90s I read the published journals of some great writers including Thomas Mann and Andre Gide. I ended up buying Gide’s journals and was greatly rewarded.

Later I attempted to sift through my own journals to find a book’s worth of material and was GREATLY underwhelmed. Since that is not the purpose of a journal anyways, but some of my later notes to myself were much better than the earlier.

I appreciate your comments because it makes me feel it would be worthwhile to do a little more sharing, since that 1990s period was one of transition for me and has some value.

Best to you in your writing endeavors. I always like to remind people that it is a marathon and not a sprint… If you just keep going, it will amaze you when you look back from the future to see how far you have come.
