I do not see faith as incompatible with science. Science can deny a soul and an afterlife because of its presuppositions. There is ample room for science for the Christian or religious life. The design of nature is a testament to a mind behind the creation (for Cristians) and the laws of gravity and physics, etc. correspond with all that you speak of. Christians can be educated by science. It used to be that all the knowledge families were part of a sound university education, including philosophy and theology. Along the way science divorced religion.
