I have been blogging daily since spring 2007. Previous to that I had been journalling 30 years, so I had the discipline. The difference is that I do not write about myself per se. I see the blog much like the six o’clock news in that you have air time to fill… and as with news shows you are creating content for readers.

About half my blogging is coverage of local arts and things related to local. Other topics include challenging peoples’ thinking and helping give hope… or just sharing thoughts. Goal is always to write well, to make sure that I am not wasting someone’s time. It’s a way of life and now I am sharing some of my best material with a new audience here on Medium.

All your bullet points above are on target. Every single one of them. The accountability one is especially good, because if you put yourself out there, people will sometimes call you out on an attitude or fact… I have been periodically writing about Bob Dylan for over ten years and sometimes get publicly corrected on a detail… but that is how I have learned many things I did not know before, from first hand sources.

Anyways, write on. Good luck.
