I Love How People Self-Describe Themselves on Medium

Medium is a fascinating world. Like Twitter, there’s more than meets the mind’s eye.

As I near my one year milestone of posting nearly twice a day, and trying to follow at least two new people a day, I wanted to share with the community one thing I have especially enjoyed. It’s you, the people who read and write here… and the people who work behind the scenes to make it happen.

A few quick observations about our members.

  1. They come from everywhere — north, south, east and west — contributing from all places globally, and the spaces in between.
  2. They have such interesting names. (Especially compared to my somewhat common moniker.)
  3. They have such a variety of self-descriptions, from matter-of-fact to far out. The latter is what you should almost expect from creatives though.

To make my point, check out this list of people whom I have recently chosen to follow. Each one seems incredibly interesting, and certainly unique.

This last gentleman is no relation to myself genealogically, but he is like a kindred spirit when I read what he writes. He lives walking distance from where William Shakespeare was laid to rest. I connected with Steve last summer and have enjoyed this friendship “across the pond.”

There are dozens more of you who I have appreciated getting to know. Am looking forward to continuing the journey. Have a great week ahead and write on.
