It’s generally a rule on Wall Street to avoid throwing good money after bad. It’s a common error to over-estimate one’s own powers to fix something that is broken. My experience in observing mergers (not quite identical but similar) is that it takes about three years for the dust to settle. The first half is trying to get at the truth about what was really going on.
