Oh so remarkably true.

After watching my firstborn son emerge to take his first breath, blue face immediately transformed to pink flesh… well it makes an impression… and when I reached home after a suitable time, I called my father. I, too, had been a first born, though in the rush and tangle of feelings and thoughts I’d forgotten… I. just wanted to share the joy of this moment, and his response — so beautiful and matter of fact — was, “Yes, I was know.”

I realized then that I was part of a fraternity of fathers….

Last year I became a grandfather, and learned yet another dimension to all this “miracle of life” that is tranferred through the generations.

Thanks for these thoughts. Wonderful, enriching… firm.
