Yes, when I was on my driver’s permit in NJ, I was driving down Highway 22 — then considered the deadliest highway in America — when a railroad tie fell off the back of a flatbed truck in front of me and bounced to about window height as I swerved and managed to avoid it.
Your reasons for not trusting self-driving cars are legit, but I have heard young people say that people are the problem and that we need to make driving illegal. (Yikes!) I have written about this elsewhere.
