Wilde Observations #16
A tossed salad of art, poetry and ideas.

“No great artist ever sees things as they really are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist.” — Oscar Wilde
First the Blade
We understand not
the places we go,
we understand not
the people we know,
we comprehend little
the things that we own,
we know not the pow’r
of seeds we have sown;
we understand not
the words that we speak,
we understand not
the aims that we seek,
we comprehend little
the company we keep,
but comprehend fully
the harvest we reap.
First the blade
and then the ear,
to reap with joy
we first sow tears.
