Wilde Observations #20
“All God’s angels come to us disguised.” — James Russell Lowell

“One can survive everything nowadays except death.” — Oscar Wilde
On the Mountain
Behold, an angel
sleeps, wrapped in tissues of dream.
No, it is a man.
The Angels
There were three of them
radiating holy bliss.
We saw them, and fled.
From notes scribbled after a 1990s visit to Devil’s Tower in Wyoming.
