“Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? Let him who accuses God answer Him.” — Job 40:2
Ode to Job
Misfortune begets misfortune,
a cycle devouring dignity,
breeding self-contempt.
You with head held high, beware.
It’s only a hair’s breadth
from each of us.
No one sees perfectly
the forces at play
behind the curtain.
That’s one thing certain,
though just to be sure,
go ask Job.
